Sri Lanka’s Michelle Balapitiya Opens it’s Doors





Michelle boutique hotel  in Balapitiya was  open by Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa.


Michelleis a ,`Life Style’ boutique hotel on the Southern Coastal belt of Sri Lanka with 16 state of the art suites refined by the extravagance and lavishly stunning ` virgin` beach.


Michelle offers the `ultimate` in privacy and unparalleled `tailor made` services. Some of the other facilities available include an “Ariyana” Spa with Balinese therapist’s to make you feel refreshed and rejuvenated, a well equipped Gym and indoor games ,said the management

Ranjaka De Mel, managing director of the hotel said to the media that ,  it is mainly Russian tourists who are attracted to the hotel since it is built according to Russian architecture.


By 2016, tourist arrivals in Sri Lanka are expected to generate an annual income of nearly $3 billion and create 500,000 jobs.

Michelle boutique hotel  is an associate company  of MOS Lanka Holding which invested Rs.500 million on Michelle which is a BOI approved project.


The new venture on the western beaches is just one hour’s drive from Kottawa on the Southern Express way.  Once out of the highway at Kurundugahahetekma Interchange, it’s only a 25-minute  run to the Michelle Boutique Hotel in Balapitiya.



Maduganka is a key  aeration of the area

Madu River which flows across Balapitiya (approx 80kms down south) is one of the rarely visited and unspoiled attractions any nature lover can find in Sri Lanka. She boasts of having a cluster of 64 small islands scattered along her path and the most of which are uninhabited and covered with mangroves.
