Strong Resalution against Sri Lanka at Geneeva UNHCR




Speaking to the media last evening (20 March), Finance Minister Chidambaram announced, India will vote for the US sponsored resolution on Sri Lanka and would move two amendments that would make the resolution stronger. The vote on the resolution will be taken around 07.00 pm Sri Lankan time, today.

Minister Chidambaram said, India’s envoy in Geneva, Dilip Sinha was called to New Delhi and was briefed on the Indian government’s position on the US Resolution and was advised to move two amendments that would, “send a resolute message to Sri Lanka and goad Sri Lanka to accept an independent and credible investigation.”
