The name of the Boston bombing suspect  Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, was used to  checked into an Army run hotel situated inside the High Security Zone in Jaffna by an irritated apposition parlimenterian who had been previously refused to enter the high security zone.

Member of Parliament  Ravi Karunanaike  said that while the government of Sri Lanka prevents the duly elected representatives of the people of Sri Lanka from entering the so called “high security zone”, it had no hesitation allowing the “Boston Bomber” Dzhokhar Tsarnaev to check in to a hotel in the high security zone.

previously  a UNP delegation which included Ravi Karunanaike and others were  was stopped from visiting the area on Friday with Military Police manning the Waligamam north checkpoint stating that the Ministry of Defence needs to approve each and every visit,  the reception at “Thal  Sevena” ,  Sri Lanka Army’s  hotel situated inside the security zone,  booked in Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the surviving younger brother of the two Chechen brothers suspected of being responsible for the devastation and deaths during the Boston marathon,  for a two nights stay.

The hotel reception earlier booked in a Mr Ramalingam and a host of other unknown names, on what could have been one of the busiest days for Thal Sevena, when UNP activists started calling in using aliases, to prove there was no security and no security checks at the hotel – and therefore none also for the high security zone.(Hope you did not mind the head line!)
